Federal prosecutors plan to introduce T.I.’s prior arrests for possession of illegal firearms, ammunition and silencers as evidence in his upcoming federal weapons trial. According to the Associated Press, the U.S. Attorney’s office made their intentions known in a motion filed today in U.S. District Court in Atlanta. All of Tip’s prior weapons charges came after he had already been convicted of a felony. The first incident occurred on December 22, 2001 when the rapper was arrested under the false name Douglas Morgan for possession of a 9mm pistol. He was not convicted in that case. Almost a year later, on November 1, 2002, Tip was arrested and eventually convicted for carrying a 10mm pistol. Finally, on December 18, 2004, police executed a search warrant at his Fulton County home and discovered a firearm with an attached silencer, ammunition and pictures of the rapper holding weapons. Tip was convicted of felony drug charges when he was 17 and sentenced to 7 years probation. He later violated the terms and ended up serving a short jail sentence. T.I. is currently free on a $3 million bond and under house arrest for charges stemming from an October 13 federal weapons sting.

Awww Black Doodlebop T.I. must feel so good to be out of jail. Sandra Rose is reporting that he was released today on $3 Million bail. He is on house arrest for sure however.

Clifford Harris, aka T.I., will be confined to the new mansion he paid over $3 million for last year. The mansion located in Jonesboro, is a 3-story 6 bedroom, 8 bath mansion that sits on 1.7 acres offering stunning lake views, a swimming pool, dock and boathouse. It will afford him more room and luxury than the smaller residence that the feds ran up in 2 weeks ago in search of guns.

Sandra reports that he will be back in court in about a week, so his freedom may be short lived. Whatever, I hope he makes the best of this situation and does something positive with this situation.

It appears as though things will get worse before they get better for T.I. and his family. The rapper appeared in court with his lawyers to request bail and house arrest. Judge Baverman was not having it.

Rapper T.I.’s request to be released on bond was denied today by U.S. Magistrate judge Alan Baverman. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, Jr., was also arraigned on federal gun charges today where he entered a plea of not guilty, as was expected.

The judge was ready to release T.I. under house arrest (as I reported) but T.I. and his attorneys did not meet the specific conditions of bond release today, which included a $3.7 million cash and property bond, a private alarm monitoring company with an employee of the alarm company living on the property, Tiny can be the only adult living on the property (in addition to T.I., the adult monitor and T.I.’s children) and T.I. must submit to twice weekly drug testing.

The next hearing is scheduled for next Friday. If T.I. and his attorneys meet these requirements, T.I. will be released under house arrest with very strict conditions.

Things aren’t looking good for short-stop rapper T.I. He was in court at 3 pm in Atlanta where he was denied bail. He will remain in jail.

Rapper T.I. appeared in the Federal Courthouse in Atlanta for the first time today at 3:00 PM on weapons charges and has been ordered held without bail.

T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., had his hands cuffed and his legs chained as he entered the packed courtroom.

His lawyers unsuccessfully sought bail for the rapper, which was denied by U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman.

His lawyers are looking to fully exonerate him and are confident that Judge Baverman will set a reasonable bond. The courtroom was standing room only, with some having to wait outside. His family was also at the hearing. His lawyers go up to bat for him again on Friday. Yeah, good luck with that.

Rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris was arrested in an ATF sting on Saturday for illegally attempting to buy machine guns and silencers. His bodyguard was the informant that provided the info to the feds. According to Bossip, it all started with him, along with his baby mama Tiny, being arrested for a fight at a strip club in Atlanta. It was all downhill from there apparently.

According to Reuters:

T.I. was arrested after an undercover operation by ATF agents that started on October 2 when ATF agents learned an individual was seeking to buy machine guns without registering them, the Justice Department said in a statement.

That individual, who turned out to be a bodyguard for the artist, was arrested on Wednesday after paying $2,200 for three machine guns, two silencers and a pistol.

He said he was buying the guns for T.I., and with the blessing of ATF agents arranged to deliver them to T.I.’s house on Saturday.

“Harris (T.I.) then agreed to meet and took possession of the machine guns this afternoon. He now faces serious federal charges and a potentially long prison sentence,” the statement said, adding that T.I. would appear in court on Monday.

Three other firearms were found in the vehicle T.I. was driving and during a search of his home in College Park six other firearms were found a bedroom closet.

He had better have a good explanation for this because John Q. Law is not playing this year. If you’re a convicted felon, but rich as all hell, why would you do something so stupid as buy an armory’s worth of weapons? What was he trying to go for? Was he vying for “Best Human Impression of Fort Knox?” Get the hell out of here……

Nominees for the 2007 American Music Awards were announced yesterday (October 9) and Young Jeezy, T.I. and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony lead all hip-hop artists with two nominations each. The Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will take place on November 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif. For the first time in the AMA’s history, all the winners will be determined by online voting at ama.abc.com. “The Internet allows us to bring millions of potential voters into the voting process,” says Terry Bateman, CEO of Dick Clark Productions.
