If you haven’t gotten a chance to see Fantasia Barrino in the hit Broadway show “The Color Purple,” you’ll get a few more chances.

Fantasia, who was originally supposed to leave the cast in October, has extended her stint in the show until January 2008.

The former ”American Idol” alum has extended her stay in ”The Color Purple,” the hit musical based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the show’s producers announced Thursday.

Fantasia, who won raves from the critics for her performance as Celie, will appear in the musical through Jan. 6, 2008. She was originally scheduled to leave in October.

”The Color Purple,” now in its second year at the Broadway Theatre, received a boost at the box office after Fantasia joined the production last April.

Good for her! I bet somewhere in Fat Bastard Land, Perez Hilton is overdosing on bacon grease to take away the pain. You know how he HATES Fantasia……

The Tony Awards are in full effect right now and who loves ya? That’s right Seattle Slim’s The Beatniks! I put in some OT to get the best of the best pictures for you.

Taye Diggs looking nice. I think him dressing nice these days is like the holidays, you only have a few a year and the rest is just waiting for the next one. His wife Idina Menzel looked very nice. If you are familiar with the play “Wicked” based off of Gregory Maguire’s book of the same name (I read it! Loved it!) you may have seen her in action.

Usher and his wet nurse fiancee Tameka were there. I see she’s covering up her mid-section. I hope to God she is not pregnant. It might do her good to be a mother to the kids she has with her ex-husband she two-timed. I’m just saying….

DAMN Felicity! Her face is a little on the elderly side, but this broad dresses to the nines. Love the dress.


‘Tasia performed! She looks nice right here and that fingerwave is not bad looking either. I’m glad that she is on “The Color Purple.” Perez Hilton might hate her, but this lady is talented! All the best Fantasia!

“Dreamgirls” star Anika Noni Rose was there as well looking fire in that dress. I like her. She is understated and sexy.

I see Ann Heche was there in full effect. You know she dressed to kill because of that nasty divorce she is going through.
Ann: Hmmph…this will show you to divorce me. You’re gonna miss this gushy stuff….

Fantasia is KILLING the critics on Broadway in her role in “The Color Purple” but damn it if we can just get her right in every area she’ll get accolades outside of the theater. Does Fantasia just say to herself: “F_ck these hoes. I’m rich, got me a house, a car and Broadway. Effort today? I’ll pass!”

She was on hand for the 63rd Annual Theatre World Awards in New York, but her fashion sense stayed home to watch “So You Think You Can Dance?” apparently.
