According to BallerStatus it was a dismal week for urban music. Bon Jovi and The White Stripes enjoyed nice debuts, topping the charts.

Shop Boyz couldn’t party like rock stars for their Rockstar Mentality release that came in at no. 11 with 52,000 copies. It appears as one-hit wonder-dom is making itself known to these gents. I hope you didn’t waste that advance money!! It’s a wrap!

Huey, who had a hit with Pop, Lock & Drop It on the radio, came in at a weak no. 14 on the charts, with 49,000 copies of his album Notebook Paper sold. I bet he wishes he didn’t talk sh*t about Nelly now huh?

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, Chrisette Michele’s I Am debuted at no. 26. That’s too bad because that sister is great! Def Jam obviously felt she needed less promo than the less talented Rihanna. I’m just saying…..

T-Pain’s sophomore swill album Epiphany dipped to no.10 just in its third week on the charts. It only moved 56,000 units. Maybe instead of buying “dranks” he should by a voice coach. That way his crap wouldn’t slide so low, so fast.

Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad slipped two spots to no. 12 with 51,000 copies sold. She has sold a total of 295,000 copies. OUCH! That’s not good. It’s not bad, but it’s not good for stateside sales.

Oddly, but not surprisingly, the lady with the rats on her head, Amy Winehouse, went from no. 10 to no. 7 on the charts despite a DECREASE in sales. Good to see she’s still on there. I highly recommend her and Chrisette’s albums. Good music!

Poor Deborah Cox came in at no. 175 with her album Destination Moon.

Some believe that this is not only a reflection of the poor records sales affecting the music industry in general, but of the urban music industry. These were all much promoted albums and they don’t seem to have any holding power.

On the one hand I find this song funny because I feel like it’s an accurate depiction of what mainstream rap has become. I say mainstream because the underground stuff I’ve heard is GOOD but they don’t play it on the radio. It’s unfair to the listeners. On the one hand it may be offensive to some because they may think it’s racist or bigoted. I don’t think it’s racist so much as painfully honest. Rapper Consequence looks like I feel stuck at work: like sh*t. He was present for Carmelo Anthony’s draftee party. And LaLa was NOT there.

YES! Yeah it’s a slow gossip day. Never mind the fact that it’s Friday and I would rather be at home. This cheered me up a little though. Sexy Daniel Craig is slated to play James Bond again in the next installment. He’s already signed up for the next movie. No official title or plans for the movie have been announced.

I don’t care what they do. All I know is they better make sure that man walks up out of the water in some hot pants swim shorts again. I volunteer to be the oil girl. You know? Britney Spears pulled out of a concert with Cyndi Lauper because she refuses to sing live. She will NOT do it. Lauper told the pop skank that in order to be in on the concert she had to sing live, and not lip sync. She was scheduled to perform one song.

Bitch please! We all know she is going to need money sooner than later. She isn’t doing anything, and money doesn’t grow on trees. I guess if I were her I would be afraid to open my beak to squawk. She could never sing to begin with and now what with her “protein” diet courtesy of whichever man is hitting, I suppose it does a number on one’s vocal cords. She can’t sing as bad as Rihanna right?
