Jay-Z flew to London to watch Beyonce perform at Wembley on the latest leg of her UK tour.

The 37-year-old hip-hop mogul even cancelled his own promotional tour of his business empire Roc-A-Fella to surprise his 25-year-old fiancee.

Sources say Jay-Z promised Beyonce “the biggest diamond she can fit on her finger”.

A source said: “This will be the hip-hop wedding to end all hip-hop weddings.”

Jay apparently popped the question to Bey while they were on vacation in Cannes. How sweet. It’s official now….

Rihanna tells Blender that she basically wouldn’t be able to find Nemo. Damned shame…

Al Sharpton and friends have planned to collect thousands of bars of soap as part of a gimmick plan to clean up the lyrics in hip-hop. YAY! This will be
so progressive. Our problems are solved! Crank that radio up, the airwaves are free again!

In an effort called SOAP (Stop Offensive and Abusive Lyrics in Hip-Hop through Personal Responsibility), Sharpton and the city of Detroit, which was the second stop in his national fight against offensive language in the genre, on Saturday (June 2), wants to wash the genre clean.

“We are going to wash hip-hop, one mouth at a time,” Tara Young, a local Detroit organizer, told the Detroit News.

Now you would think that they would march on Def Jam or G-Unit records, Interscope, and others with the soap and try to storm the place. Yeah…..no. They are going to donate the soap to shelters and halfway houses for abused women. What a noble act! Because we all know those women need to clean their ASSES as opposed to receiving money to fund programs that will help them stand on their own two feet….

Mr. Beatnik was going through and fell on CMT and my jaw dropped because as he skipped the channel, I caught a glimpse of a black woman singing country. Charley Pride and Cowboy Troy (as frivolous as his songs tend to be) prove that country music is not foreign territory to blacks. Hell I’m a huge Johnny Cash fan myself. But Rissi blew my mind. I admit that she’s made a fan out of me. I’m sorry but I was bored to TEARS with every black female artist coming out genitals first, talent after. But that’s just me. My favorites are “Country Girl” and “Leavin’ On Your Mind” in which she brings some excellent vocals. She adds a certain soul to her songs that really adds flavor. She first made a name for herself as a finalist on CBS’ Star Search where Naomi Judd praised her. I can see why!

Snoop Doog and family stepped out with a host of other celebs and athletes including the very striking Anna Kournikova to the 22nd Annual Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular. I guess he got the memo that the MTV Movie Awards were bogus. But can someone PLEASE tell me why his child is wearing a HIGH TOP FADE???? There are really no words. Let’s just hope that his son can use his hair for the good of birds and other wildlife who may be displaced due to natural disasters or deforestation.

See what you guys don’t know is I was a huge fan of NBC’s “Passions” where Jesse first got his start. At least for me anyway. So when I saw him on “Desperate Housewives” I thought he moved up. Well that didn’t last long because really his character wasn’t meant to grow. Now that the money from the series is running out and John Tucker Must Die made all of $25 at the box office, Jesse is having to hustle faster than Rick Ross at the waffle house. Is it just me or does he look like he bathed in oil before the party? He looks faded as hell.

This was about the ONLY interesting or funny part of the movie awards. Honestly I don’t think anyone even showed up. Anyway, check out Sarah Silverman in this short clip calling Lindsay Lohan a “little pig” and embarassing Paris Hilton. Oooh that saying that goes “God doesn’t like ugly” seems apt for Paris who was VISIBLY displeased. And the world’s tiniest violin is playing in the background……

Here is video of Amy Winehouse performing at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards! I love me some Amy. Get her album if you haven’t already. Unlike other performers (cough..cough…sputter..Rihanna-choo!), she can actually sing and doesn’t need to sell sex to do it either because Lord knows Amy is pushing it with that look.

She didn’t do much dancing. It was a pretty one-dimensional performance. But her hair, wig, whatever was banging and she had a good stage presence. The singing was definitely hard for her to do, that much I could gather. Perhaps she didn’t dance as much because she needed to concentrate on not sounding like ass off pitch?
